"Outclass the Competition"
The Dayton Area Campus entertained a "Dress for Success" seminar coupled with a "Relocation Awareness" program. Ms. Leah Hawthorn from Advanced Business Images presented the lecture to approximately 70 students on Tuesday, April 20th. Ms. Hawthorn is a certified business image and etiquette coach, a master trainer for the Protocol School of Washington, as well as the training facilitator for the Defense Acquisition Project at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Along with her lecture she touched on the use of video résumés and their use and implication for the future. Her multi faceted presentation Outclass the Competition was an interactive seminar designed to engage and hands-on professional skills. Each participant was provided with an illustrated workbook and a wealth of information to boost their confidence and job seeking skills. Students commented on the interactive group activities where learning by doing and observing various interviewing scenarios provided better understanding and knowledge. Some said they would retain what they learned just because they physically participated and were absorbed into the event.
